About Us
Our Mission, Vision, and Values
The mission of NEOAANN is to provide a network of leadership, learning, and peer support among nurses working in the field of neurosciences in the Greater Cleveland area.
Our Vision
We hope to provide an professional environment where neuroscience nurses can come to gain knowledge in neurosciences via a variety of venues and other educational options. This network will also allow nurses to engage in collaboration with our peers in an effort to improve the quality of neuroscience nursing care, leadership, community involvement, research, and education.
Our Values
The goals of our chapter are multifold.
- Education. Our chapter holds meetings every other month with a pertinent lecture relating to neuroscience nursing. When possible, we try to provide as many CEU opportunities as possible. We are starting a journal club and hope to include a CNRN review. All of this is to improve access and interest to members.
- Chapter Development. In additional to our educational sessions, NEOAANN seeks to improve the professional collaboration and develop peer support from neuroscience nurses working in a multitude of areas and institutions. We also like to "have fun" and continue to develop social gatherings for our chapter. The chapter is also interest in community involvement and philanthropy. We aim to participate in events to promote community awareness of neuroscience disorders, such as stroke and hydrocephalus.
- Legislative. Whenever possible, we want to educate our chapter regarding upcoming local, state, and federal legislation affecting the care of our patients or our nursing practice.
